Scaled Momentum Spectra in Deep Inelastic Scattering

Charged particle production has been studied in deep inelastic scattering (DIS) using an integrated luminosity of about 0.44 fb−1 taken with the ZEUS detector at HERA. The fragmentation properties of the struck quark in deep inelastic scattering have been investigated in the current fragmentation region of the Breit frame as a function of the exchanged boson virtuality Q. The measured evolution...

Deep Inelastic Processes

Cut vertices, a generalization of matrix elements of local operators, are revisited, and an expansion in terms of minimally subtracted cut vertices is formulated. An extension of the formalism to deal with semi-inclusive deep inelastic processes in the target fragmentation region is explicitly constructed. The problem of factorization is discussed in detail.

Angular Momentum Transfer in a Protolunar Disk

We numerically calculated angular momentum transfer processes in a dense particulate disk within Roche limit by global N -body simulations, up to N = 10, for parameters corresponding to a protolunar disk generated by a giant impact on a proto-Earth. In the simulations, both self-gravity and inelastic physical collisions are included. We first formalized expressions for angular momentum transfer...

Angular momentum conservation in dipolar energy transfer.

Conservation of angular momentum is a familiar tenet in science but has seldom been invoked to understand (or predict) chemical processes. We have developed a general formalism based on Wigner's original ideas concerning angular momentum conservation to interpret the photo-induced reactivity of two molecular donor-acceptor assemblies with physical properties synthetically tailored to facilitate...

Outflow from YSO and Angular Momentum Transfer

Dynamical contraction of a slowly-rotating magnetized cloud is studied using the magnetohydrodynamical (MHD) simulations. In the isothermal stage (n ∼ < nA ∼ 10 cm), the cloud evolves similarly to that expected from Larson-Penston self-similar solution and experiences the run-away collapse. However, after the central density exceeds ∼ nA, an accretion disk is formed around the adiabatic core. J...
